CHURCHIANITY, CHURCHIANICS, THE CHURCHED AND CHURCH – Final Part

PreachFrom all that I have discussed, we can see that much of what is practiced today is mere religious dynamics and a sheer departure from what Christ intended. I usually ask myself that how come then God’s kingdom is still advancing despite these invasions of paganistic pseudo-spiritual affectations. But I soon realize that God’s purpose on earth can never be thwarted, not by the schemes of humanity, neither by the ignorance of religion. On one of my studies of the Gospel of John I came across this statement made by Jesus: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” (John 5:19). This is absolutely amazing! The implication of Jesus’ open statement was that He only did whatever His Father does. Which means every action He carries out is what He sees the Father doing. Does this apply today? Are we not mainly following the machinations of religiosity and floating carnal ideas and activities all around the world?

CHURCHIANITY, CHURCHIANICS, THE CHURCHED AND CHURCH – Part 5

Church2 I will strongly encourage that you read the preceding parts of this before you jump on here. This will help you appreciate where I’m coming from with all these stories I am patiently following through. From the past series I have tried to look at some serious misconceptions about the church and within the church. Thus I have coined words such as Churchianity, Churchianics, The Churched all to help conceptualize the misconceptions that exist today regarding the church. This is the 5th part of the series and I am now looking at what is the real meaning of the church and what was the original plan of its founder.

THE CHURCH

I am a student of purpose and subscribe to the belief that when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. This is very simply to understand because everyone who creates a product has a plan or purpose in mind. No one makes a spoon and uses it as a drumming instrument; neither does one cook a pot of stew and uses it for painting the walls simply because it’s almost red in colour. Continue reading

CHURCHIANITY, CHURCHIANICS, THE CHURCHED AND CHURCH – Part 4

churchTHE CHURCHED
Have you ever sat in an argument with someone who tries to defend the practices of his church? To such people, you find that there really is nothing you can say to help them see the light, except such is open to the truth for what it is. Sometime ago, I engaged a close family member in a discussion on some of the practices of her church. I did this not with the mind of spiting what was going on, but because I knew that such was a form of hindrance to true worship. I asked what was the basis for such practice, and how scriptural is praying to saints to intercede or intervene on our behalf. She went on a journey of explaining the long held traditions of the church and how this is an ancient practice. I asked again, if the man whom we all serve, Jesus, gave us such an example to follow. I know there is only one mediator between man and God, Christ Jesus. All I could see was this dear family member had really been ‘churched’. This also gave me occasion to look back at my life and realize that I too had been seriously churched and cannot exonerate myself from the stronghold of church captivity.
