So my fellow Calabarian, please do something, anything that lies in your power to ensure that Calabar doesn’t lose its twin children of music and food. Isn’t it ironic that we say music is the soul’s food? Great! The city will not only be feeding the nation physically, but also mentally.

Flowing from this, every time I see Lagosians party heavily, I always make an excuse for them in my heart that a lot of the people at these parties work very hard, thereby find consoling such social escapes. Even though such gatherings are spiced with overkills of apparel, music, wine and food, you get a sense of satisfaction in the air of celebration as a reward for diligence to duty.

I arrived Lagos like an Israelite carrying the half baked dough into a determined exodus. I had absolutely no idea what to expect, particularly how I will react to the weather, coming from extreme conditions like we witnessed this year in the Northeast US.

I agree to a certain extent with the analysis of some who claim a Ribadu-Adeola (Muslim-Muslim) ticket will not fly because of the primitive tendencies of the voting population. This is political realism in Nigeria due to the abuse ordinary Nigerians have suffered from our early politicians who chose to play ethnic and religious politics rather than on ideals and purpose.
